Default Tricks on replacing bulbs in A/C unit or radio?

Hi, I'm looking for any tips or tricks anyone can give to replacing the bulbs behind the buttons for the A/C unit or the radio. All of my A/C bulbs are burnt out and some of the radio ones. I took apart the A/C unit and attempted to remove and resolder the bulbs, but it was very difficult. Anyone that has done this before, please let me know if there is an easier way, or if anyone knows of somebody or some shop that could do it in Southern California, I'd be appreciative.

Also, I went to Radio Shack to get the bulbs (part No. 272-1092) but they said you have to order them online. Are there any other bulbs that will work that I wouldn't have to order?

Thanks,

I'm local to you and have converted several HVACs and radios to LED's. Let me know if you want help with the repairs.

Gary is very competent, you're in good hands!

Gary, I've been getting my stock bulbs at McMaster Carr...

Thanks I really appreciate it! Do you know where I can get the bulbs locally? I was going to order them from corvetteradios.com today, but if I can get them locally I'd rather do that. Also, I considered converting to LED's but I decided against it and staying stock.

You can try Orvac Electronics in Fullerton, 714 871 1020. Get enough lamps to replace all in both the radio and HVAC. Once one goes out the others are soon to follow.
