Will help a little bit,,mainly a tiny bit more torque. Will make the car sound better if/when you get an after market muffler(cat back) system!!The stock firing order and stock H-pipe have an odd sounding idle when the mufflers produce more sound. An X really improves the idle sound. Also knocks down drone a bit as well!!
Unless you are installing other exhaust components, just wait. The difference will be lost in your stock exhaust for the most part.
This is true,,BUT it would give you an accurate alignment for your after market setup to install it with the stock mufflers first. Probably not THAT big of a deal though!! It is true that the stock mufflers would stifle most of what benefit an X would give!!

I installed a Bassani X-pipe on my '00 mainly to help with the drone and popping I was having with my aftermarket catback exhaust. Worked great for solving those issues.
