Hello
Thanks! The coolest thing I took from your post introducing yourself is that you and your father are enjoying the car together. I wish my Dad were here to enjoy my Corvettes with me. Treasure those moments you spend in the garage with your Dad and the Corvette, and those times will become very special memories some day.
A couple things to remember - no such thing as a stupid question, if you don't understand something, this is the place to get the answer. Please don't post any pics of a Corvette limo or a Vette in the water......they've been posted here once or twice before!

May you and your father have miles and miles of smiles driving the car!

Lol thanks for the tips, I've been flamed a few times back in college during my first forum experience with the BMW guys, so I'm a relatively seasoned veteran
Thanks! It's great that you appreciate the Corvette despite your Bavarian Motor Werks affliction. While I appreciate the engineering aspect of the BmW, you can't deny the thrill factor combined with very "acceptable" engineering and build quality of the C5/6 Corvette.
Seems that you have found the American experience that counts. Bang for the buck....this car is flawless. Smiles per mile....this car delivers. Throttle feel and exhaust sound....this car is sensory overload. Pushing it around a corner is always an exciting experiment in gravity versus grip.
To be honest, I've never driven a BMW...but I'm sure I would appreciate it. But I also know I'll never own one.....personal reasons.
Again...welcome.
Besides the M3's and M5's I've driven in the past, no other car has made me physically smile this much! To be honest, I'm glad to have had this experience as it's opened my eyes and mind to owning American cars (although they must be a big V8 and have over 350HP lol). Thanks!
Thanks to all, I appreciate the kind words and welcomes!

I was not surprised when I read you spent some time in New Jersey after seeing your screen name. You had to have something to do with the Philadelphia area...
Have Fun & Be Safe.
I find the C5 to be the most enjoyable and trouble free of the 3 vetts I've owned. (C3, C4 & C5). Sounds like you need to buy another one for your Dad.
!!More than likely you will find these cars irresistible/addictive!! The more you get in it the more you want to be in it!! Looks and sounds like you found a real beauty there,,not to mention that you got some nice add ons in the bargain,, The wheels intake and exhaust are the first thing MOST people change!! You are a leg up on corvette ownership!! Being an 04 auto,,you don't have to worry about the infamous column lock issue,,so you are home free,,able to enjoy pretty much worry free!! You'll enjoy the forum too,,so again WELCOME

Yes, that's what I'm going to wait for is an '08 6-speed, or if it's in the cards a Grand Sport. Thanks!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Welcome and Congrats! You are going to love the car for a long long time. And this is from a person that has driven many BMW'S due to a German Car Freak Roommate. =) Even After Driving 5 Series, 3 Series, a Z4, and even an M3. I love getting into my car the most on the weekends. And enjoy running with my BMW friends, when there is no other corvettes to run with that is.
My suggestion though, you say your a big car person. Try to get a Stock 6 Speed next, and do everything to it yourself. I think if you do that, you will have a car for life. =)
Welcome to the Family Again!
And Don't forget the Wave...

Funny you should suggest that, I actually said the exact same thing when we were looking for the car. I said, "I know this is a great buy, but this kinda sucks because it already has the first few mods done that I wanted to do myself!" Oh well, I guess that leaves me no choice but to start looking into long headers, cams and some tuning software
