Default Catless or catted x-pipe?

i want to do headers to x-pipe to stock TI ehxaust..just wondering what people think. If i go catless would it be to loud even with the TIs (or smell really bad) or with the hi-flow cats and the TIs will it be to quiet. Again thanks for the insight and responses i really apprecaite it. You guys are helping a noob out lol!

you should go to a car show (I know, its winter, so the options are limited) and listen to a few different setups. I'm sure they'll be someone with a similar setup to what you're proposing.

my 03Z, headers, xpipe, stock exhaust with NO CATS, not loud at all and always have comments on how great it sounds, idle and accelerating, no bad exhaust smell unless you are behind car

I have LT's, high flow cats, X-pipe and stock TI, defiantly NOT too loud.

I would say that if having nocats would effect getting your vehicle registration its not worth it. If not, go for it.

getting it reged and inspected isnt a prob, but i just want to know if headers and catless xpipe to the stock TI's would be crazy loud...please someone who has heard this or done this, let me know, because i want to order xpipe soon lol...i want it noticably loud but not like anoying loud and drowning. I figured catless to TIs would be perfect just hope someone has heard or done this! let me know, that would be great..appreciate it!!!

No cats on mine and I love it. I just had them cut off and straight pipes welded in.

I currently run headers/catless x pipe/stock Tis. It is not loud at all unless you are going WOT and even still it's not that loud. It sounds great though, i like it. Sometimes i wish it was louder, but i really don't need anymore attention.

I also, have lt's off road x pipe and stock Ti's. I also have an ms3 cam, and heads. I was worried that it was going to sound muffled through the stock cat back. I heard it today for the first time after all the parts were installed, and it sounds just right. I am very happy with it. I wouldnt want it any louder.

Rasp is more then likely to be present if you don't run cats. If you can deal with that, I'd say go for it. :thumb:

Forget the sound... not a big deal..

The smell is what I'd think about more. People behind you hating your car from the stink, and your clothes smell like a lawnmower after driving for a few miles.

I vote for catted.

Stock Ti's sound awsome with headers and no cats! I had that set-up for a long time but unfotunatly its not worth the chance anymore of getting busted here in CA without cats.

Honestly, i prefer catted just because of the smell, the sound is almost the same tiny bit louder mainly more rasp without cats.
