Yay for GMPP!
The blower/fan for the heater sounded terrible and moved almost no air was the reason for the appt.
I was worried it may be due to mice, but I place moth ***** under the car and in the engine compartment over the winter. Mice would not have been covered but it turned out to be a bad motor so it's covered.
I asked him to check the rear differential seal while it was there and he said it was fine.
When it was up in the air though he noticed the rear main seal leaking.

I have not seen any oil on my garage floor so this was a surprise to me.
I don't knows what the final cost will be as the parts are on order and scheduled for next week, but I am way ahead with this one visit and I have 18 months left.
I am very happy I got the warranty.
• Remove/rebuild transmission/replace front seal/new fluid/filter
• Replace both differential axle seals
• Replace Right Front Wheel Hub (sensor issue) and K-Harness
• Replace EBCM
• Replace Windshield Washer Tank Sensor
No idea what all that would have cost without a warranty and I only have 46,000 easy miles on the car!

Wow, 20k vs. 1k. I think you made out!

I am certain that if I went to the Dealership with the attitude that a lot of Corvette owners do (both warranty and non-warranty), I would never have had good experiences.
Actually there has been 4 Service Managers over the various incidents and years. I always make sure to build a personal relationship with BOTH the Service Advisor AND the actual Mechanic that will be doing the work in advance. I also slip the Mechanic a small amount of cash under the table usually about a week after the work is completed and proven to function on large projects just for them taking care extra good care of my paint and interior - the word gets around. I also usually give the service advisor a thank you note with a small gift certificate (about $20) to a local restaurant after a week has gone by.
Virtually ALL the Mechanics and Advisors know me at the local dealership and because I try to be so easy to work with, they go out of their way to do their best. When I talk to the mechanics they always tell me in confidence how they HATE working with Corvette people in general (picky A-Holes in general). I totally "understand" and relate to their situation and try to let them know that I am on their side.
You don't always get what you pay for in life, but you can never expect to get what you don't pay for. Same is true when it comes to negotiating. I have heard story after story about how "I gave that Service manager a piece of my mind, etc." - you may eventually get what you want by "demanding", but for me that would be a last resort. I have watched other Corvette owners come in to the Dealership with their crappy attitudes right you front - I would not "want" to work for them either!
I WANT them to WANT to work on my car!

The mechanics and even the service advisors get beat-up all day long with people bitching about everything imaginable - Corvette owners being the worst offenders. Face it - nobody that drives into a Dealership is in a good mood or excited to be there. They almost act shocked when someone comes in that is empathetic with their situation. I don't like extended visits any more than anyone else, but I tell them if it takes a bit longer to get it done right without inflicting any new damage to the car, then so be it. Spending an extra maybe $120 (AFTER the fact - especially when it is not expected) to thank people for a job well done is a good investment - even the smallest scratch on the paint would cost way more to fix (and more down time).
I will say that the GMPP Extended Warranty is the only Extended Warranty that ever paid off. I don't generally buy any Extended Warranties on anything, but on a car that probably would cost $150,000 to replace one part at a time over the counter and MANY individual parts that cost more than the entire warranty, it is a no-brainer. If they offered a 3rd GMPP Extension, I would have bought it in a second!
This is a "partial" list of what the warranty covered and does not show the several thousand dollars of work the past few weeks (like new gas tank sensors in both tanks, transmission rebuild with new seals, two new differential seals, new EBCM, new Right Front Wheel Hub and harness and new Washer Tank Sensor)...

to the people who regularly say an extended warranty isn't necessary...
