Couldnt you just take it out of the high beam side and put it in the low beam side? I changed mine to HID's and didnt pay attention.

I have a dumb question............

What's the difference between the regular 9005/9006 and the
HIR 9011/9012 bulbs ????

I also want to do this conversion, but would like to know if I'd be better off using the standard bulbs or the HIR..........

The HIR is the brightest Halogen bulb you can buy.........but that said they are dim compared to moving up to HIDs.

hid's are the way to go, and the prices have down to a reasonable price so there are no excuses...

I will use the HIR's first...........then maybe convert to HID. I seldom drive the vette at night so I'm looking forward to the difference the HIR's will make while using the hi/beam in both sockets with just a little effort and not much $$$$$

Good luck with the mod, however I don't think you're going to make too many friends on the roads by installing the high beam bulbs into the low beam housings.
