Is it worth getting these headers and sending them off for Ceramic coating?
For those who have them, what heat issues did you see?
About ready to pull the trigger.

I ran these of both of my c5s and never felt the need to coat them!
So, I've had these headers on now for about 4 months and feel like I can give an honest review for others. I purchased these in October of 2016 and did the install myself in my garage on jackstands with a few extra hands. Its not impossible to do. That quality is great IMO and they fit well once installed. My only gripe was getting them in getting them in lol. I have the batwing oil pan so it was a bit more difficult to squeeze in. We did end up loosening the motor mounts and grinding down the tabs on the oil pan to get them to fit. once we had them cleared, the rest was a cake walk of just connecting everything else. o2 sensors cleared fine and have not had any issues with my msd plug wires with the heat. The only thing I would change would be the clamps used. Other than that, everything works fine and have had zero issues. I get plenty of compliments. I have recommended them to others because I believe these are the best bang for the buck.
Anyone know max HP where the cats hinder performance? I've had the catted system for 5k miles now, and I did a BTR Stage II cam and Livernois Stage 3 Ported 243s over the winter. When I had my car tuned with just the headers, my tuner mentioned that the chinese cats are pretty restrictive and I'd be better off going catless. I'm wondering if it's worth the effort of swapping (or gutting) my catted x-pipe for maximum gains from my heads and cam?

I thought the Chinese cats where more free flowing as they don't use as much material as a high end or oem cat. You could always gut the Chinese cats (can't believe im saying this haha) and you would still look legal if anyone checks.

That's kind of what I thought, but he was pretty adamant that the chinese cats are "restrictive garbage".
I don't live in a state with smog checks, so it doesn't matter to me. BUT, if I'm going to switch to catless, it would be awesome to trade with someone to neutralize my environmental destruction vs. gutting the cats and adding to the problem.
