Mine rub on the shaft, just slightly. I feel it under very hard right hand corners (track only)

Same. Check your engine mounts. I replaced my stockers with Hinson mounts and that condition (rubbing under hard right) went away. There can be a lot of play in the factory mounts.

I also put a dent in the primary where the shaft was rubbing. It was surprisingly difficult because this 321 is tough stuff, but heat and a BFH took care of it and I've got plenty of clearance now.

Was thinking about putting a dent in it, will probably do that next time the headers come out. Don't want to go with aftermarket mounts since I daily drive my C5 fairly often.

Honestly, the Hinson mounts barely feel different from stock. A bit more vibration, but it's nothing crazy.

But adding clearance to the primary is a sure-fire way to go.

Don't be afraid to put a dent or two in it for clearance. Engine Masters found that it barely makes a difference, even when you bash the living hell out of them.

Ok so my vette has 140k miles. I bought these headers. And after reading a few post I have questions. So I want to replace my mounts so that I don't have issues. But can I replace them with factory style mounts? Are are the hindson ones smaller or shorter? Summing has factory style ones for $20 each. So $40 doesn't hurt but 200 for hindson ones do.

Factory mounts work fine. If anything, you want the mounts as high as you can get for steering shaft clearance.

I found steering shaft clearance was better with the shorty mounts on my personal car!

A quick question, my upgrades are going in the end of April and I didn't get the XS Headers ceramic coated....What will happen to them over time? Will they rust or just discolor?
Thanks,
jIm

Being Stainless they will not rust! Just discolor from heat

I will have a set of headers here shortly with a few new modifications to them to hopefully help gain back steering shaft clearances. We are looking for someone to try them out for us as I do not currently have a car available here. Can already have the headers or could be looking to install for the first time. If you would like to help try these out, please PM or e-mail me at: Jon@HuronSpeed.com and I can extend a great offer!

I apologize for not posting this up sooner! I have a NEW drivers side header which has some tweaks done to help gain more clearance to the steering shaft. This is new (unpolished), and will be paired with a used (no issues) passenger side header along with the X-pipe setup of your choice. If someone would like to help us and relay info on the install with the new drivers side header, please email me or PM me on here, Jon@HuronSpeed.com
Pricing will be essentially free if you are willing to help and relay info
Only one available....
