Yeah, you're right about that - I spend too much time explaining. Didn't consider it funny, though, just a unique happenstance. I'll change it (again) next year.

You can't buy a vanity plate in UK. You have to find a sequence of letters that works for your name or association
I managed to get an old plate that fits for me. I flew the F4 Phantom when I was younger and the F4 prefix plus my initials is as good as it gets
The bad news is that plates here can be very expensive. This was a cheap one and cost £600 ($1000). The good news is it's mine for as long as I want it. I just transfer it to any future car. Mind you, I think I'll be buried in the Vette so that's not an issue
Out of interest, I checked my logbook and I first flew this jet in 1976 on my first Squadron - No 56 (Fighter) Sqn
