JWM Projector Lights- Lower Opening Version- Thread 3
However, they had to mess with the lights and readjust some stuff while they were testing the shrouds, so they may have messed up my alignment. I'll realign them when the car goes back for final product fitting.
I saw these in person and they do look quite good.
I definitely wasn't trying to knock the lights/effort/quality.

I'm really pleased and encouraged with the progress and can't wait to get them in my hands. Again, thanks!

Yes, to answer your question, the stop plates are individually adjustable. Tho, I'm not so sure that's the "derp" issue...

I agree with TNX ZORA, some angles give the appearance of the headlights being un-even, however in this case I think the entire assembly on the driver-side is adjusted too high.
The amount of reveal at the lower portion of the shroud appears to be too much.
I agree with Matt and just judging by pictures, paticularly the one above I am inclined to think the more likely explanation is that the fabricator needed to move the adjustment around a bit to make the driver-side shroud fit.
Also it was pointed out to me off-forum that the individual projector adjustments look to have been changed as well, again especially the projectors on the driver-side, possibly because the projector openings need some refining...?
These are the prototypes and I'll be making the refinements we discuss here and then sending them back for molds.
The plan continues to be to make them in both clear finish carbon fiber and dura-fiber for those who wish to paint them.
The clearances at the front of each projector should allow for the addition of halo's, at least with the hi beams.
I'll let you all know when I get them in my hands and can provide more answers...
The passenger side light IS lower than the driver side. I pulled them apart last night to reinstall the HIDs (had the halogens in) and found out the lift pivot pin was missing completely so while the lifter arm is actually working without it, it's not setup correctly and the passenger side is actually sitting slightly lower because of it.
I'm going to GM to pick up another pin and retainer clip tomorrow which will lift the passenger side up to height it's supposed to be at.
Mike, it's no problem at all. I'm glad this is getting done and I'm really looking forward to having a set installed.

We will have a new group purchase for the headlights here in a few months. Shrouds I just can't give an ETA on. We hope they will be ready for this GP and that's what we're shooting for. I don't like to say yes or give a time on them until I know 100%.

Life is good, spring please come soon!

Matt, glad to hear it was a simple issue.
Good idea installing the halogens, too!
FYI; some here have replaced that pin with a bolt and ny-lock nut. Sizes escape me right now but I think jprich had a thread on that you can search up...
Were there any re-adjustments you had to make to the projectors?

I didn't have to make any adjustments to the projectors. Seems these projectors work really well with any light source as far as where it puts the light. The bulb shapes are totally different, but for whatever reason that doesn't seem to matter with these projectors. After putting the HIDs in, the light was exactly where I'd want it.
I really had no idea the pin had fallen out, when I saw the one side off a bit I was adjusting, driving it a while and readjusting until I took the whole assembly out and saw the pin was gone
Had nothing to do with any of the parts added to do the mod, this whole thing just adds a few parts and is totally reversable by just removing them to get back to stock.Regarding the bolts, I seem to remember that a 1/4 inch dowel fits right through nicely, thats what I had to use before I got the bolt. Just take the the other pin (or a hole gauge) and it should be pretty easy to find a bolt of the correct length and you can even get them with a smooth shaft and threaded just on the last inch or so. Add the Ny-lock nut and you're good to go
