I vote walk. Chalk it up to lesson learned and take the opportunity to do it right this time.

I don't agree.
Now that he has had the car and knows whats wrong with it and can get it fixed why take a chance on getting another car with hidden troubles? You can check it out all day and still can mis things that might be an issue.
Thats the way I look at it.
He is getting 2 big issues fixed for next to nothing.

Hey man, if they wanted and tried to screw you once what's to say they won't screw you on the repair? Breaking into an engine is serious stuff and if they try to cut corners, you're screwed again. There's lots of vettes out there for sale and some are really good deals. Do your homework this time and have someone look closely at what you're going to buy. Not everybody or every dealership is a crook but trust me, there's a few out there who are. Run, don't walk, the hell away from there!

Thank you all, me and my wife have decided to spend the 700 and have the motors piston rings re-worked. Its kinda cool now, since essentially it will have a nice (soft)rebuild should really renew the durability on the thing

Hope things work out. Spending the $700 to get those problems fixed is not a bad deal.
