[QUOTE=Sargechris;1575074871]The TUB has splinter/stress cracks at the fender brace attachment point on the psgr side... I was going to ask: is that a repair or replace??
They pulled my tub out and replaced the whole thing and refiberglassed it in or whatever. I jsut no i was freaked out when I walked in the body shop and half my car was taken apart! But they do other vettes, and car look perfect when i got it back. It took exactly 30 days which was 2 weeks earlier than the adjuster thought.
Mine is a DD so luckily i have free rental through Geico, so i tooled around in a 2010 300C for a month
Good news: the Insurance Company for the other party accepted liability and is taking care of it all (repair, deductible, rental car, and my Doctor Visit)... The repair bill is estimated around $ 4800.....
ETA on return is about 10 days.... I can hardly wait--driving a rental Ford Fusion is OK---but it really makes me miss my Vette!
I also put a post on the So Cal section if you are interested:

Sorry for your damage.
You passed the cab but then the rear end of his truck fish tails into you after you already passed him?
You clipped the truck trying to pass it at the last second?
I'm with you. The visual made no sense. I am guessing the OP thought he made it, but had already been tagged by the time he passed the cab. (??)If the cab was passed cleanly, there is no way for the trailer to hit. Then I thought maybe the truck was in oncoming traffic, but then the damage would be on the other side.

I'm pretty sure the truck went sideways and caught him.

I guess his rear was already fishtailing into me as I gunned it...
My first impression was seeing his cab/front bumper entering my lane ahead of me... Then he corrected as I began to pass... then the big bang... I first thought it was his front bumper that hit me--but the only mark on his truck was the liftgate support on his left-rear...
My Coupe is still in ICU awaiting Surgery... The donor parts have arrived and the procedure is now scheduled...
A couple pics from Elite Custom Auto in La Mesa, CA (including a ZR1 that just had rear quarter panels and psgr door painted--it's door was dinged and the rear quarters had many rock chips)...
Whoopee--got 'er back yesterday!! She looks GREAT--the folks at Elite Custom Auto did a fantastic job!
I was so worried about a good paint match during the repair process. Turns out I did not need to worry.... I swear--I can't see wear the new paint blends into the old paint---at ANY lighting or angle!
