Default Weird oil problem

I had a custom cam, valve train, Headers, Xpipe, ported oil pump and new clutch installed a 3 months ago. I took the car back to have the car retuned because it would stall out when driving with AC on. With it off It runs great. Only the first 3 minutes of driving with the AC on is the only time the car gives me trouble. When I picked the car back up my low oil message came across the screen. So before I left they put two quarts in. Now my car is taking 6 quarts oil to be at the full level. I just changed the oil a month ago and now my oil level is below the add mark on the dip stick so I just put a quart in, and pick up some more tomorrow. There is no oil on the ground under the car so I am losing alot of it somewhere.

Any Ideas????

I always use 7 quarts when I change. I add whatever is left in the 7th bottle so I can get rid of the bottles. My 02 Zo6 has consistently taken 6.5 + quarts each change.

Do you have a catch can? Are you running a PCV valve?

Look into your intake for oil!

You are prob hitting the pedal real hard and driving it like you stole it. As mariofromnewyork stated.....maybe increased blowby?

Yes I do like to have some fun with it. We all do.
I did not realize that the LS6 takes so much oil. I just assumed it took maybe a 1/2 quart more than my LS1 did. I guess that would be why I am running so low.

Thanks for all of the input guys.

My assumption would be that you need to get an owners manual and read it before you damage the car.

Nothing wrong with being a full quart over. so 6.5 to 7 qt would be acceptable

If you are losing oil, you are burning it. You haven't really stated how much you are losing in a certain amount of miles. You said you had to add a quart in a month. How bad of a loss that is depends upon hom many miles and how you drove it over that time. My car burns zero oil driving nice on the street but about a quart every 40 minutes on the race track.

During the summer my car is a DD and I drive about 60 miles round trip to work sometimes more if I have to go to some of my other shops. After seeing that most burn a complete quart before an oil change, I am thinking that only putting in 6 quarts and burning one is my problem. I will keep track of this the next time I do an oil change with 6.5 to 7 quarts.

Again thanks for the input guys.
