Default Welding in x-pipe

I have a WCC x-pipe on my vette and was thinking of taking the clamps off and welding it in. Anybody do this before? Prices? Thanks

I had my entire exhaust system tack welded to keep things aligned.

Why would anyone want to weld in the exhaust components? I mean even new cars have clamped in exhaust components. This makes repairs and upgrades easy. Are you sure that you will never have to change anything out?
