How did you go about changing them?

There's a access panel under it that makes it pretty easy.

You can get to them through the brake duct.

You'll get three suggestions

Go in through the brake ducts - not easy with a Z06 or if you have screens

Go in through the bottom by taking out the bottom panel

The one that works for me is:

Turn on the headlights and back off one position to kill the lights.
Unscrew the 3 small screws on the black plastic housing around the headlight. Gently pull the housing clear. Reach down around the headlight unit and release the bulb holder. It comes out by turning the bulb holder a ¼ turn counter clockwise but it has a plastic clip which you need to squeeze to release it. Here’s how the bulb fits into the lamp unit. The DRL bulb is the lower of the two.

Here’s the light socket. This one’s after market but it gives you the idea. You can see the clip you need to squeeze.

Change the bulb. It’s a push fit into the lamp holder. Push it home firmly but don’t handle the glass. Use latex gloves if you have them. Reseat the bulb holder and turn clockwise until it clicks back in place. Put the plastic headlight housing back in place making sure to locate the small plastic tab in the bracket on the headlamp cover. Replace the 3 screws and close the lights.

It’s a 10 minute job. Some guys have had the lights close if they’ve taken a while to do the fix. If you’re worried about that, disconnect the battery once the lights are up.

The bulb is a 4157NA

Some guys with big arms remove the hood adjusting screw for better access. Guys with even bigger arms have had to take off the headlight cover. Four torx screws (2 back, 1 each side). Take the back ones off first with the lamps down. Raise the lights and take the side ones out.

I did mine tonight too! The only hard part was the stupid bulb assembly back in it's slot. I spent 30 minutes max on both. Really easy job. I replaced mine with white lights... looks freakin awesome.

I used a combination method, take the headlight bezels off and reach thru the top and fish the bulb thru the brake duct.

If you think this was fun, wait till you have to change the headlights. I did my low beams and called it a day. Not bothering with the high beams until they burn out.

Try changing a tail light on an early C4. I pulled the inner wheel well to get to my 87's tail light.

I went under the car and removed the lower panels per the owners manual...thought it might be a simple job, till i had to start feeling around blindly, with the tire scraping the back of my head...wish i had posted to find a better method. Thanks to all!

If you have the car high enough on a jack (with supporting jack stands), you should be able to get a light in there to see all the stuff behind the fraont fascia. Shouldn't be all that hard.

What a PAIN in the A$$!!!!

For anybody else, reach up under the bulb and twist the white housing Toward the front of the car to get it out. It does not unlock by pulling it to you as you might expect.

Go through brake duct but before you do spray your hand with wd40 makes it alot easer on you hand. Plus you can move your hand around alot easier.

I'd like to beat down whoever engineered that setup. It's a PITA compared to my RX7.

Are there brighter versions available? Maybe a LED setup? I have tinted lights and love the look in the day but would like them to be brighter.

Next time go through the brake duct, takes about 5 minutes and you don't even have to open the hood. Check out the video.

removed the headlight bezels reached in squeezed the clip twist
Are you saying you can change the bulb from the front of the car? Taking off the clear plastic thingy? Because I have broken glass sitting in mine from where I had a bad case of David Banner the other day trying to
turning the bulb holder a ¼ turn counter clockwise (which does not work)
Trying to reach up into and all around inside that thing was out of question. I just slapped in the new bulb and got back to watching football.

Thanks everybody
