Well I got hit today leaving work. Got hit in the right rear and spun me around up and over the curb. Pics when I get home. The car is sitting at my buddies shop with a,damaged radiator. So on to the worse part, I can't do anything yet because I don't have her info. The officer told me to stay back from her because I guess I looked mad. So I have the weekend to sit and play this out the correct way. Tips from people that have been though this process? Diminished value claims? I have spoken with Stuart's paint and body, any opinions? They have been referred by 21st century muscle cars. Any other shops? I want this fixed right if it is not totaled.

First off you should of asked the officer for the imfo, She hit you and you need her info. I would be on the phone or go to the Police dept and get a copy of the report.
Good luck with the repairs, I had my car fixed by my local GM dealers body shop and they did a great job, Color match was perfect.
Some state make you wait a couple of days before you can get the report.
If the officer happens to be off the day after the accident it can even take longer or until he/she returns to work.
However you can get the personal details on site for insurance filing and you shouldn't had left without it.
Good luck.
The officer gave me the report number and his card and told me to deal with it through insurance. Sent me on my way as he wrote her a ticket. I called the station and they said I will have to wait for the report. The officer did call me back and said he turned the report in and it will be ready monday. So now I wait. Am I over reacting about the damage? The front frame rails under the bumper are both destroyed.
If they decide to totaled it, which i doubt. Try to buy it back and repair it yourself.
Any damage suxs but it's not too bad.
What do you mean when you say front rails?
Are you thinking of the radiator lower support/skid ?
The rail is the two beams that the radiator cover bolts to,among other things.
I don't believe those got damage.
Are you mistaking the radiator support rails for frame rails cause your front bumper doesnt look messed up near enough to destroy the frame rails.
And I also dont think its totaled but its hard to tell without looking at it.
new covers, fender, radiator and front bumper scrappers and you are set. Radiator shroud too i guess. Doesn't appear to be all that bad. I may have a A.I.R. Pump for ya if you need a replacement for the one that looks like it may have taken a hit too. ~cole~

I would say if she hit you hard enough to spin you around you faired very well, There looks to be very little damage to the rear of the car, I am sure it isn't totaled or even close. I would think if she hit you hard enough to spin you out you would have a lot more damage in the rear. Nice thing is it is a car and it can be put back together right as long as you pick the right place to do the work.
No need to worry about the report. Your insurance company will get a copy for free by supplying the report number. In California, you have to PAY for your copy.
Go get some estimates or if the car can't be driven, have an adjuster go to the car for an estimate.
If the accident isn't your fault, this should go fairly quickly for you. Be prepared to pay your deductable up front. If you're found not at fault your insurance will refund it.
Just remember it's a car which can be repaired or replaced. People are not as durable. Be happy you're not injured.
From the pics it looks fixable!! Think I would look for a full repaint as they will be fixing too many areas to get a good blend/match,,but THAT is just an opinion!!Good luck with the fix!!
I used Stuarts to repair my 02 Vert when a 16 year old on her cell phone rear ended my vette. I am very pleased with their work. Ask for Chris Ward, he was great to work with. Have Chris show you around the shop.
If she was ticketed, then you're alright for sure. Contact your insurance and they'll get the reports. Go get the estimates from the places you like and turn them in and wait.
Best of luck. It looks repairable to me. Tell the estimator that you're very picky and to look it over well and no junk replacement parts.
guys thanks for making me feel better about this. I was told Chris would be the one to do the work by Gretta on the phone. I plan to have it towed there monday. Think I could swing a tiger shark front bumper cover? As for spinning it was pretty rainy earlier in the day and the ground was still wet. Ill keep this thread updated as I go.
