How to identify Z51 package on C5
I'm new to corvettes (don't have one, YET) but looking for more info.
Can someone school me one how to determine if car was built with z51 package (99 with targa top)?

If you have a coupe with the A4 with Z51 you will have 3.15 gears, larger sway bars, PS cooler. can't remember what else.

Check the glove box sticker for codes G92 (performance axle) and FE3 (heavy duty suspension).
Automatic trans Z51 packages marry the power steering cooler with the suspension components - including the shocks, springs and beefier sway bars. Metal sway bar links up front, plastic in the back, 3.15 gearing in the rear differential.
Any GM dealer can run the VIN of whatever Corvette you're looking at and tell you exactly what options it rolled off the assembly line in Bowling Green wearing.

Are these statements accurate re: automatics (from the factory)
1. All A4's with Z51 suspension have 3.15 axle ratio.
2. All A4's with 3.15 axle ratio may have either FE1 (base) suspension or Z51 suspension.
I searched but didn't find a definitive answer.

Besides looking for the Z51 code on the glove box sticker, the easiest way to tell is if the car has a power steering cooler. If so, it has Z51. On a C5, Z51 included stiffer springs, larger stabilizer bars and the power steering cooler.

All FRC's,99 & 2000's have Z51 standard!! I too love the package. In addition to above mentioned items,,I believe the have the metal sway bar end links,,at least on the FRC's. As I recall the glove box label has Z51 in the list of options.

My 99 coupe (Targa Top) has the Z51 with plastic end sway bar endlinks at least in the rear anayways, don't know about the fronts.
I didn't think the metal endlinks came out until 2000 model year for all C5's, but I could be wrong.

So what's the performance axle ,3.15 gear?
