Wouldn't deleting it result in unwanted crankcase pressure? Maybe cause oil to blow out the dipstick tube? Also wouldn't vapors come out the breather while running as well as after shut down that would cause unwanted odors?
No real advantage that I'm aware of for removing it!,,Why are you thinking about deleting it?? Not sure a single breather would be sufficient either,,especially if you like to get frisky on a regular basis,,and it's hard not to in a Corvette!! I too think there is more opportunity for unwanted odors!!

Just get a catch can and you'll be fine, or catch can and breather if you like. I just emptied my catch can yesterday after approx 1000 miles...I didn't have a lot of oil but definitely enough to make me say "WOW, that was going back into my engine???"
The new 04 Z06 valley pan as mention and catch can is the ticket. In the old day we still didn't removed the pcv system because it kept the engine compartment clean and it help with gas mileage. The filter breather on one valve cover was for fresh air input and the pcv check valve would be on the other with a hose to the carb, filter base plate or intake manifold. Simple! Basically the same system today. Like toilet paper their is only so much improvement that you can do.
What ever you do don't remove. accomplish the required repairs.
