2002 Hood Insulation Removal ?
Evidently the previous owner of my 2002 had an after market air breather installed. There was a rubbed spot on the cars hood insulation when I purchased the car. I purchased a new hood insulation from my local GM dealer today. Now, how do I go about removing the round things that hold the insulation to the hood? Will I be able to re-use the existing ones or should I purchase new of them also?

I used one of those fork-like interior trim removal tools. The one I have I bought at a local auto store, however in a pinch you could use a barbecue fork. Just take it slow. I also suggest you pull the tabs off the bottom (front) of the hoodliner first, then the top and then finally the ones in the middle.

I'll try to post a link that has some good pics.

or just search on hood liner cleaning. Pics that might help.
