not sure about the heat from the motor. i haven't driven it yet. i'll know in a few months. i cleaned felt with alcohol, let dry, and applied with a hair dryer. it is sticking great. and the dryer was damn hot on it for a few minutes. definitely worth the 37.00 to try!

You're welcome - glad the info was helpful. As far as taking the liner off the hood, there is a tool you can buy to do that but the BBQ fork will work also - just take your time and be gentle so as to not rip the fabric of the hoodliner. And whatever you use to remove it should slip between the liner and the plastic retainer, not the liner and the hood.

A five or ten piece nylon pry tool kit is invaluable for removing interior/exterior trim pieces w/o damage. I got mine from EASTWOOD, but there's other sources...

I used the idea the guys gave me here to use bbq fork. It worked perfectly removing the plastic tabs without damaging them. Went back on without any trouble when painting was done.

Actually, you can go to the hardware store and get drain cap covers that will go over your plastic plugs. You have to trim the plastic before you put the covers on them, but they look good. Here is mine with drain cap covers:

Looks better in person than in the pic. Good luck with project.

I had the decal and it eventually started to come off the hoodliner around the edges. I never did like the look as opposed to painting so I peeled it off and hand painted it. It looked great for several years but my hoodliner started getting old and delaminating around the edges so I bought a new embroidered one.
