It depends on what you are planning on doing. In the old days people could use the C4ZR1 wheels with the Grand Sport offset for SCCA T1 racing instead of stock wheels. They would use the 17x9.5 front wheel with the 17x11 rear wheel and run a 275/40 on the front and 315s in the rear. The 275/40 was the same diameter as the 315s so that didn't screw with the ABS programming since the cars can handle equal diameters front and rear. While that started things CCW came along with the light weight Classics in 17x10 and 17x11 combo that people used to run 315s all the way around.

A number of HPDE guys like me put on Repro C4 Grand Sport Spec 17x11s at all 4 corners and ran 315s all the way around. I ran those in autocrosses as well. It didn't really matter from a class standpoint because I was usually the only car in the class whether I ran stock or modified anyways. Same goes for NCCC autocrosses. In most cases where there aren't a lot of cars to run in an autocross you are all running for FTD instead of a class time. The square 315 setup on a C5Z is fantastic.

Here is what my car looked like with the GS Wheels painted in ZR1 color and with 315 Kumho's all the way around.

If you go with these wheels you want to select ones that have the deep recessed area like the rear wheels VS the Camaro restyled wheels with deep lug nut holes. The ones with the deep holes for the lug nuts are a PIA to work with when you are in a hurry and sometimes the socket or lug wrench won't fit in the holes.

I hate when I come across threads that don't answer my questions. Well I answered this myself on my own car. C4 ZR1 wheels with a 50mm offset will fit on the C5Z with a M&H 325/45/17 tire. They look great. Ordered the wheels from oewheelsllc for 130 bucks a piece.

They might fit. Not so sure about the "look great" part.........

has anybody thought about machining the inner pad flat to increase offset?

Here is a video of it being done:

I wonder how much material could be safely removed

and these

http://www.jegs.com/i/OE-Wheels/494/5910193/10002/-1

and i can run a 275/315 combo in a nitto 555 g2. couple of questions

1. will the fronts hang out? i see pics of the rear but haven't seen any of fronts

2. will the TPMS sensors work with these wheels?

Thanks guys

Those should work. The 275/315 combo will be dependent on the side wall height. Some cars are happy with the same diameter tire up front and at the rear. Some need a 1/2" to 1" smaller tire in the front for the traction control to work. You'd have to test it to tell on your car. The problem is usually seen under hard acceleration, like pulling out on to the highway. Then tc kicks in and your a sitting duck. So if you go that route test it before you daily drive it. They will be fine for track because you should turn off tc there.

The rear quarters are the same for z and coupe as far as back spacing and clearance. No they do not interchange, but it has to due with the trunk and hatch difference, not any tire clearance. Hope that helps you out.

Also you'll get more responded on a new post. This one's old
