12 CD Changer Problem
I have the factory installed 12 CD Changer and I was wondering if anyone has had issues with it not playing? Sometimes it plays tracks and then it sounds crappy. Tried using a CD Lens Cleaner CD and it does not seem to help. Do they make a CD Lens Cleaner for these 12 Disc players? The one lens cleaner I have might be out dated. Please let me know if I need to pull the whole unit out and manually try to clean it, Thanks guys!

My unit failed a year or so ago. I really didn't use it much at all. It started to skip, or seemingly get stuck on a track. Car was covered under Extended warranty so the unit was replaced by dealer at no charge. FYI: a new unit retails for nearly $1,000! That's what they put on my invoice for price of the new unit.
these units have been used in GM cars for a long time. Maybe you could find one in a junked GM car.
Also, a vendor here (Corvette Recyclers in Utah) might have one.
Or, one last suggestion. La Jolla Audio in San Diego CA (see website) might be able to repair it. They where/are the primary sub-contractor to GM dealers for warranty audio problems in the San Diego area. I've used them privately to fix a CD player in 13 year old GM Allante. They are VERY competent and efficient and take mail-in repairs.

What kind of CDs are you using? Mine was working fine after 7 years when I upgraded the H/U (sold it for $169 on that auction site). It worked well but was particular. Some factory CDs skipped and did not play well, others were perfect. As for CD ROMs--Memorex worked best
