Thanks Bill Curlee,Patches, and the "Search" box !
About 2 weeks ago,my Check Engine light came on-no biggie,PO1415 code(driver side air check valve),cleared it,and figured I'd investigate further if it came back(which it did the next day).
Typed "air check valve" in the forum search box,and found this thread:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...eck-valve.html
It's an oldie, but the info is as good as it was in '07-with the pics from Bill Curlee and Patches,Not only did I find out what and where the air check valves are,but the procedure for cleaning them was explained so well a child of 7 could do it.(I don't have a child of 7,so I figured I'd risk trying it myself)
Worked like a charm!-no more PO1415 code-but ,2 days later the dreaded PO1416 popped up(this is"the hard one"- the passenger side air check valve mounted between the firewall and the back of the intake manifold)
So ,since the "easy" valve was all good,I isolated the "hard" valve, blew about a teaspoonful of WD-40 through it,assisted by about 75psi of compressed air,and no more codes!
I realize this may be a temporary fix,but right now, everything's as it should be-if it happens again,I'll set aside some time and replace the valves...
Ya gotta love this Forum!,and once again Thanks,Bill C. and Patches
