Stereo dilemma....

Stereo/Wife dilemma....
So I got the "mod bug" lately....C5Z rear scoops/ducts couple weekends ago, Euro tail lights weekend before that, and now I want to do a DD install from Dennis.

$800, send in my bezel, so it's $600, plus $30 shipping.
Kinda hard to get this one past her, as she is in the Vett sometimes and would easily notice the new DD install. She tells me "just save your money, you don't need a new stereo". I "added" to my cart this stereo package, but couldn't go the next step and do the final purchase. I know if I do the DD, the mod bug won't stop, as I would also like to redo the interior, two-tone red/black some day. I can afford the stereo package, but do I really need it. I say YES!
How do I "reason" with her?

You're right. The DD will be hard to hide from "She who must be obeyed". 
Tell her you got a great deal and then keep the future mods more subtle! My wife doesn't even recognize 1/2 the stuff I do to my Corvette!

Tell her I will throw in a Ladies Corvette tshirt just for her

Trying to convince her still. We were talking, OK, I was talking, with her about re-doing the seats/interior in a red/black theme.....after the DD of course. She say's "I'll buy you a red beach towel for your seats". That's not funny! 
Then she tells me she wants to go see Elton John in Vegas. That's like 200/ticket, two nights in hotel, dinners, drinking, gambling, gas money, etc. Probably 1300-1500 bucks when were done. I tell her for 600 bucks, I can get a DD installed, and buy her a EJ DVD and she can go sit in the Vett and watch it over and over, as much as she wants. She didn't think that was funny!
