According to the all-informed internet (see citations below), the C5 is faster 0-60 and through the quarter.
It's close enough though that mods or a better driver could change the result. The new 2012 charger SRT8 will have 80 more lb./ft. and will get to peak torque quicker than the old ones, so those might be hard to beat.

A composite of published performance numbers for the base-model coupé and convertible gives a 0-60 mph time of around 4.7 seconds, and a standing quarter-mile time of around 13.2 seconds at 109 mph. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Corvette_(C5))
Dodge claims that the Charger SRT8 thunders to 60 mph in "the low-5-second range" and on to a "quarter-mile time under 14 seconds." When last we tested a Charger SRT8, we came away with a 60-mph sprint of 5.3 seconds and a quarter-mile run of 13.6 seconds at 105.8 mph. (http://www.insideline.com/chevrolet/...nger-srt8.html)

Well I will tell you first hand if you have a manual...you will do fine beating this guy everytime! I have a couple of friends like that too. They assume because they have more horsepower that they can be a Vette! Idiots!

It is hard to believe that a charger weighs more than 4k LBS. That is one heavy car! The corvette weighing less than 3300 lbs really helps it out. Weight is the enemy of any car. Power helps, but that is a lot of weight to push around. I would be shocked if you didn't win.

You will be able to eat his lunch. Your car is much lighter and has better aerodynamics. As tommie and corvettedaddy11 already pointed out "c 5 ftw". That was a good one.!

I ran one with some mods at the track when I had my TrailBlazer SS. If memory serves me correct, he ran a 13.2 or 13.3. I would think you wouldn't have any problem beating him.

I would think that the C5 would have a slight advantage just due to the fact it is so much lighter than the Charger. Only real way to potentially quiet this guy down is take him to the track and line them up.

Go to the track, bet him 3 outta 5 for ten cases of beer/wine/ whatever!

Haha another thread where people think nobody can touch their C5. I can tell you for a FACT that it will be a drivers race. I ran when when I just had a vararam, he was bone stock. We raced heads up 3 times. I beat him once, and he got me twice. I ran a 13.09, a .05, and a .04. He ran a 12.9x on one run, and his other runs were bottom 13's but he got me on the tree. My car is a 6-speed so that doesn't help for the hole-shot, and yes I can drive. If u need proof look in my profile or in the C5 fast/quick list. Unless you are decently modded I would be somewhat worried.
