Default Had my vette for 3 days

Well like the title says ive had my vette for 3 days. I love it. Its mint as can be, is everything i want expect for 2 things.

Its an auto and doesnt have HUD

I could live without the HUD but the auto is kind of bugging me.

I test drove many c5s including 6 speeds.

I got an automatic because i figured it would be better for car cruises, my girlfriend could drive it, i wouldnt have to deal with slipping clutches, and it would be faster than a 6 speed (it has a stall and gears)

Well its been 3 days and im already thinking about selling it. I roll race and drag race. Thats it. Should i sell it? I paid 15 grand and it has 59k and is mint and im 2nd owner. I could sell it for 16,500 or something if i wait a bit, make money and get a 6 speed. Or should i just stick with it and try to learn to like it? Is it going to beat out 6 speeds on the roll or dig?

I just bought my 4th Vette - an 01 - I have always had sticks before but I wanted an auto this time - I have only put 1,000 miles on it but I’m happy with my choice - I'm also not getting any younger either - I installed a Corsa Indy exhaust system - it's just a pleasure to drive but I have also slowed up & we are using this one more as a tourer -if I was still driving hard, I might have a different opinion. tom

I got my c5 a month after I turned 18 and I'm 22 now .one of the main reasons I got my vette was because it was spiral grey and stick .I drove both and just loved the whole 6 speed thing.but sometimes I wish it was auto lol. I would keep it n enjoy it.

Ive had both. My main concern is function over fun. I mean if two c5s are side by side at the strip with the same tires/wheels/heads/cam and exhuast. The auto has a stall and gears. The 6 speed has the same gear. They both launch at same rpm. Who wins?

Why would anyone want to manualy shift these days? Technology, people is way over that, and if you check, I believe the auto beats the manual in a drag race.

I wanted a manual when I bought my Vert but if I wanted the Convertible it had to be an auto.

Stuck in traffic in Vegas I thought I'd made the right decision. The A4 has some frustrating habits for driving in the back roads of England. With the gearing it wants to shift up around the tighter bends which feels uncomfortable. I have to drop it to 2nd to stop it doing that and suddenly it feels like a sports car again.

Overall, I still hanker after being able to run hard up through the gears but I don't regret the decision.

Default Three days of Rain !

SELL IT ! If it's not rocking your world on day three, it never will. I'd get one of the Subaru WRX. You'll be so much happier and you get to teach your girlfriend how to drive.. . . Again.

This is an easy one to solve. Keep the car you currently have and buy one with a manual. Have the best of both worlds! You can drive the manual and your girl friend can drive the automatic. Have twice the fun!!

WRONG!

I'd be more than happy to do a 1/4 mile run against your MN6 with my A4, stall and 3.42's

You better hope to HELL you don't miss a shift because once you hand me the pink to your Vette I will either sell it or part it out!

OP - you say you have a Stall and Gears - can you elaborate as to which stall and gears you have?

If you do not have a stall and gears, then you will want to get some - for your first order of business - plus your tranny needs and can be tuned for performance - do that and you'll be really suprised at the difference -

Thanks,Matt
