Default arrghh...belt is sandy

Hey guys....my belt always has a coating of sand on it! Anyone else experience this?

My engine bay attracts sand!! Albeit, it is springtime here, and our roads are sanded all winter....but it's been raining for a month, washing the dirt away!! My engine area always has fine sand in it. I had rinsed it all away a couple times last summer!

Depending on the severity of the north winds, I often times need to drive through as much as four to five inches of sand that can drift on to the road.
The only place the sand will gather is under the front rocker panels, never has it collected in the engine bay or on the belt.
As for general road dust, it sure loves to cling to the rear, but again, never the engine bay.

Can't say my car has ever had a coating of sand on the belts, but the engine bay does get dusty from driving the car.

Now thats a good looking Vette !! I am a little partial to Black. Looks great with the dunes !!

Do you have the hood seal? If so it might help the OP with the sand.

My electric fans are on at 180 due to the setup I am running and the dirt in parking spaces alone will get airborne and in the engine bay. I use compressed air in my engine bay after every trip.
