Default Oil Pressure question

I think the sender is bad but looking for thoughts on this one. Engine running 130 PSI, Engine shut off for over 30 minutes 94 PSI. Engine runs fine and no noises. Checked the oil and it is full. If it is the sender where is it and how hard is it to replace?

It is under the rear of the intake. I just had the same issues as you, It isn't too bad of a job to remove the intake and replace the sendor, I made a relocation kit so I can get to mine faster, It is a comon issue with the C5.

Turn your car on to accessory (but don't turn the motor). Does the oil pressure rise? If so its most likely the sensor. Mine did this and pegged 140 or 130 psi with the motor off...clearly impossible.

Sensors are known to go bad. They're behind the intake manifold and a pain to get to without taking it off. This is why I had a sensor relocation kit installed.

Yes, most likely its the oil pressure sensor that has gone bad. I have a bunch of Word files that talk about replacement of the sensor as well as a relocation procedure if you decide to go that route. If you'd like a copy of the files, just PM me your e-mail address.
