You click on the member's user name, you will get a drop down menu that includes sending a private message. you click on that to send a private message 
To reply to private messages look at your private message count under your user name in the top right corner. Anything other than zero means you have a private message waiting from another member.

New to computers, I take it...
FYI ( for your information ) there is this thing on the Internet <--- ( the thing that allows you to get to the corvette forum, and found within your computer. Anyway, this tool, an internet connection allows you to search for anything you want to know. You can go to a place on the internet using a URL ( universal resource locater ) Like Google... just type in your search query in the open field. Magically you will be sent to a place or many places that will give you the correct answer to your question... Not sure this internet thing will take off, but for now it seems promising..
