Default New Battery - BO-RFA Codes U1016 H / U1064 H / U1096 H

Does anyone know if a new battery will cause these codes to be thrown?
BO-RFA U1016 H
BO-RFA U1064 H
BO-RFA U1096 H

Everything runs fine. No issues with starting or performance. Based on some old threads I read it looks like nothing to worry about.

Appreciate any input.

When you are installing a battery it is not uncommon to get several ground related codes. Clear them and see what if anything comes back.

From the manual:

DIC Onboard Diagnostics Show DTCs U1016, U1064 and U1096 in History #PI00043 - (Jun 19, 2002)
DIC Onboard Diagnostics Show DTCs U1016, U1064 and U1096 in History

Condition/Concern:
DTCs U1016, U1064 and U1096 may be present when scrolling through the onboard diagnostics via the instrument cluster Driver Information Center (DIC).

Recommendation/Instructions:
This is a normal software function as long as the DTCs have a history status upon ignition cycling. No repair attempts should be made.

Does it help to use one of the 9 volt battery assists, you know the little device with a 9 volt battery attached that plugs into the cig lighter socket when you change out the battery? Will it stop the codes and has anyone used one? I assume you plug it in just before you remove the battery and then remove it just after you reconnect?

Wont matter for the codes he saw, the 9V thing is good to protect things like mamory settings for seats and such, radio stations...like that.

Two of the codes (cant remember which) in the RFA section are caused by the car trying to speak to some equipment we dont have in corvettes (but that are in cadillacs), so they're not related to taking the battery out.

Nothing to worry about.
