Since Jake was "born" during the '04 Racing Season as a "take no prisoners" tribute to Corvette Racing, I decided I wanted to include my own "homage" to Corvette Racing's LeMans wins on my "LeMans Commemorative Edition" C5 convertible. I had the idea to put a "Jake" on my air intake tube (in black - I wanted it to be subtle), but the cool flat black "billet" (with flamed eyes) version I found ended up not working there (the surface is not anywhere NEAR flat, which it needed to be). As an alternative, the top of the custom battery tray/cover was somewhat "naked", and since I already had 2 Corvette crossed-flag emblems under the hood (embroidered into the hood insulator and a C2-style on the "intake cover"), it became a superb location for Jake to live. Everyone who sees it likes it. For those not familiar with "Jake" and the history of Corvette Racing, they often ask what it represents, making it a great "conversation starter" as well:

I also have the Jake Exhaust Plate on my '04Z, and someday will mount my CF running boards once I get some small Jakes on them.

Jake is C6 only cause GM license it that way, He was developed in 2004....GM just doesn't want to sell us C5 folks stuff.....
