Replaced the Yellow ls6 springs with new blue springs. Cheap peace of mind, completely worth it.

No Snow, 65 deg, nothing to stop me from driving off the hill to meet some friends at a Cars & Coffee event. Round trip 450miles. Oh and I changed oil yesterday.

Mark:

Did you take the studded snow tires off before you headed down the hill? Just curious.

No just the one in my nose, don't want to offend any of my old auto X friends.

Now for the real story, I'm now running Conti DWS-06 all seasons. The Z is now mainly a long distance road warrior.

I blew my motor last week. Nothing done to the car since. Still putting together a plan of attack for new motor.

It's an autocross car first and foremost. I was riding the Rev limiter that I had set at 6800rpm. Coming through a slolom let off to get on the brakes and something let go. We're thinking it was the timing chain. Stock bottom end with a small cam, headers, tune. 387@the tire on the tuners Dyno which is pretty stingy from what I've been told by multiple people.

Have an LS6 in the works with lightweight valve train, pistons, rods, ported intake, throttle intake and a dry sump.

This past weekend I put in a new radiator, A/C condenser, upper radiator support and lower radiator bracket/ skid plate. All to repair damage from hitting a very, very large armadillo. Today I flushed the clutch fluid and now have my clutch back (YES!). The paint is in very bad shape from sitting in the sun too long, so I've compounded half the car and taken it back to a fresh coat of wax. Too many little things wrong, and not enough money to fix them right now, but a step in the right direction. Impending service includes 4 new shocks and a set of tires.

Winter storage insurance runs out Wednesday, so I got my road insurance today. Unfortunately there is still lots of snow, but I'm getting ready. Next; oil change, putting my dash back together... and wait.
2 years ago I was on the road Feb 15...

I have no pics yet of my mods getting done. Just have the interior apart. My bezel and glove box and knee bolster and console are all at Apsis getting wrapped with leather. My hvac is shipped out to update the lights in it. I will be soon putting up my other bezel I removed for sale. Going a different direction with the mods. Also just got the led taillights coming from JWMotorsports. Also planning on upgrading the headlights to the projectors and interior lighting.

Yes it is a doubledin. Black leather wrapped with red stitching. Decided to change up my leather interior.

Pulled the winter jacket off of the Z06 today since it was pretty nice out (40 f - yeah Illinois!). I also checked the valve springs since I keep reading about them possibly being bad. I'm guessing this is not a good sign?
