[Z06] What did you do to your Z06 TODAY??

Installed my smoked clear front corner lamp housings and LED bulbs. Someone told me removing the headlights to access the housings from above was easier than jacking up the car and going at them from underneath. Well, that ended up being true. Unfortunately, I am a big guy with big arms, and since everything on a Corvette is located in tight quarters, my poor right arm took quite the scraping during the process. Car guy problems. LOL
Oh, and I finally did install my new battery den, hood seal, and den cover. All 3 were good Ebay deals. The den and seal were from a salvaged car, but look new after I cleaned them and gave them a little 303 Aerospace protectant. Engine bay is starting to look clean, and is ready to get detailed. Now I need to replace that gaudy yellow oil dip stick. Yuck!

Oh, I also installed this plug-and-play manual hood switch from Mid America. Ever since I installed an LED bulb in the hood light housing, the light will not turn off after leaving the hood open for 10-15 minutes like it is supposed to do. Instead, it just dims. Soooo, easy-peasy switch install fixed that.

Mmmmmm... I love freshly-painted parts! Get that bumper wrapped as soon as possible! Just say NO to rock chips!

Snapped a couple phone pics of the new front corner lamp housings and the non-2003 front emblem I installed recently. Turned out better than I thought!

Picked up my 2001 Z06 from my tuner!!
Notice the fuel cross-over line is a custom hardline and the lines from the catch can are also custom plumbed hardlines.
on the dyno!
Well I dropped my car off at my tuner 3 weeks ago making 403 rwhp with kooks headers and a custum spec’d blower cam with the goal of getting it back with a super clean install and making over 600 horsepower to the wheels. My tuner knocked it out of the park with a beautiful install AND the car now makes 629 rwhp! we accomplished this with the ECS supercharger kit, Alky control Meth injection, custom catch can and Katech valve covers and coil relocation kit

Well to be honest I haven’t really RIPPED it yet. It’s been so hot out where I’m out I’ve been stayin inside. of course I had to try it out a lil bit when I picked it up and of course with this power to weight ratio it can get insane real quick. The coolest thing i think is the sound difference, and I don’t mean the exhaust. When you’re cruising around town the bypass valve remains open so the excess boost pressure is sent to the atmosphere in stead of into the engine. you can very much hear this echoing off the cars passing in the opposite direction or off the concrete barriers on the highway. THEN when you get on it, instead of getting louder everything seems to go silent because then the bypass valve closes to route all the air directly into the intake. Ive described it as THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM. It’s like JEKYL N HYDE! I got lots of attention just with the sound. It sounds amazing. a carmaro pulled up next to me and I pushed the clutch in and gave him a rev. His eyes bout popped out of his head when he heard the jet blast of air sent his way LOL WHOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHHH

A year or 2 ago I bought and "Nite Moves" painted this thing. Never did install it, paranoid I guess. Figure I'll take my chances on a ticket, you can actually just read the plate, particularly with light/flash.

Added an iPod interface and a 30-pin to Bluetooth adapter. Works really well and sound is acceptable for being older tech.
Only downside is the iPod interface seems to push constant power to the connector, so even with the ignition off, my phone stays connected and playing music.
I'll have to figure out a way to change it to a switched power source.

Changed out the tranny fluid and the differential oil. The stuff that came out didn't look nearly as nice as the Amsoil that went back in. It is a super easy job, I highly recommend it if you haven't done it yet. The job is definitely easier if you get the car up a bit. The first height position on my QuickJacks was perfect.
Went for a short drive after. Did my figure 8's lock-to-lock and no protesting from the rear. The car seems to turn easier and the trans feels smoother in the shifts. Definitely worth the time and money!
