Default [PICS] Apsis Carbon Fiber Front Splitter Installed

At Carlisle I made the mistake of visiting the Aspis tent and seeing their new C5 carbon fiber front splitter and side skirts. Talk about an expensive impulse buy! After borrowing it and holding it up to my car in the ECS tent, it was all over. The ECS guys were NO help either saying that I "had to buy it now" after seeing it mocked up. I was able to take the splitter home from Carlisle, the side skirts are currently in production and will be here in 3-4 weeks according to Jersey.

Please PM Jersey at Apsis for pricing as I am not sure if he is still offering his Carlisle special pricing on these items.

I had the splitter installed today by the great guys at Corvette Center in Newington, CT. They did phenomenal work with my hood install and paint so I knew they could make it look right and install it properly so it won't become a speedbump at 170mph. The install took about 1.5hrs total, they used a combination of screws, fasteners and urethane to make sure it'll stay put! They were very impressed with the fitment and quality of the carbon fiber weave. This is a ZR1 quality piece in ever way. The edges are even sanded nice and smooth. The design is also what I have been hoping somebody would make for past 10 years, takes the ZR1 look, but tailored perfectly to the C5 front fascia and cooling requirements. You definitely get what you pay for.

Onto the pics!!!

Thank you Apsis and Corvette Center, cannot wait to get the side skirts installed next!!!

I'm not even kidding, that looks great! That is a great piece and it outlines the C5Z lines perfectly. Nice impulse buy.

Bill,

Yeah, thanks to your impulse buy at Carlisle. Now your car carries a nice honor FIRST ZR1 STYLE CARBON SPLITTER ON THE PLANET! Congrat!

I don't expect you will post pictures so quickly. You can't wait to install it, right?

The Side Skirt is in production and should be finished shortly.

Now you are addicted to our products. I guess we will see you to come back soon.

Thanks for the pictures. You don't mind we post your pictures to our web, right?

I just had to get it installed right away, I'm not very patient with this stuff.

Feel free to use my pictures on your website. I'll take much better ones in proper light with my DSLR once the skirts are installed.

Thanks again!

Boy if it wasn't for the East Coast banner on the windshield, that car would look like crap.

Looking forward to seeing the side skirts, very well done Billy & Apsis.

Looks great man! Do they carry it w/o the carbon fiber finish where you can paint match it to the rest of your car?

I was just thinking the same thing and I can picture the exact spots it would happen around here too.

If you look closely at my 2nd picture, you'll see it doesn't really extend out or downward that far. The popular ACI splitter extends much lower than this one does. That fact that it's not as low is one of the reasons I chose this. While I will need to be cautious entering parking lots, gas stations, etc, I don't expect too much of an issue with it. I never hit the plastic nose, so I don't see that this will be much worse.

I was thinking the same thing! Based on your close-up shots, this is DEFINITELY the best front lip for me! Not too low, not too forward, just right. Thanks so much for the great pics. I will be getting one in 'glass and painting it QS.
