Installs with four button head ss bolts, washers and nylock nuts.

Installation Procedure
Required Tools & Supplies
Exact-o-knife
Metal Straight Edge/Ruler
Screwdriver
Silver Sharpie Marker
Masking Tape

1. Remove the center region from the template using the exact-o-knife and straight edge/ruler.

2. Slide template under the Donaldson Blackwing air filter while it is mounted to the C5 frame rail.

3. Place cover onto the Blackwing air filter.

4. Align template with cover and once satisfied tape the template to the radiator shroud.

5. Remove the Donaldson Blackwing air filter and all accompanying induction components from the vehicle and set them aside.(intake duct, couplers & MAF sensor)

6. Trace the template cut-out with a silver sharpie marker and then remove the template.

7. Remove radiator shroud from vehicle (safest method).

8. Using an exact-o knife and a straight edge or ruler; cut out the defined area (may be easier to cut out the corners first with the exact-o knife and then flip the shroud over so that it can lay flat on the ground).

9. Reinstall radiator shroud and all induction components (Blackwing, intake duct, couplers & MAF sensor).

10. Place cover onto the Blackwing air filter and mark radiator shroud for the mounting holes using silver sharpie marker.

11. Remove cover and punch or cut holes into shroud using exact-o knife or tool of choice.

12. Place cover onto Blackwing and install mounting hardware to complete the installation.

I had one of the original "ice box covers" on a Blackwing when I first got my car.

FWIW, instead of using the supplied oem push pins to retain the cover, I installed threaded nutserts into the shroud and used button head allens. That made R&R so easy.

Default Outstanding product

Just bought one of these and installed it in my 02 Z06 along with my new Blackwing, which is connected to a modified Halltech air bridge.

The primary reason I bought it was to keep the filter dry when opening a wet hood.

Works and looks great. Thanks Pat.

I attached the Blackwing to my 85mm MAF, and my old Halltech Gen 1 airbridge to the MAF. Unfortunately the assembly was too long, so I cut down the airbridge on the MAF side (trimmed it by about 1"). The Chiller is just a press fit. The square dowels under each edge of the Chiller are connected by velcro and lift the cover up off the filter by 3/4" so the filter can breathe a little better. Haven't yet cut a hole in the shroud (Thanks Darryl for the info on how to best proceed with that gyration.) Regards to all
