Saw your earlier thread. Dude,,,just ask the man,,,,a very high percentage of Corvette owners are very good and honorable people in my experience! I would tell the truth about mine,,,,but it is not for sale!
Look to see in past past GM service records on that car if it was in for warranty service and engine work done in regards to "common oil consumption" problems in that particular year (2001) LS/6 Z06.
I didn't write the service bulletin, GM/Chevy did.
Models: 1999-2001 Chevrolet Camaro, 1999-2002 Chevrolet Corvette, 1999-2001 Pontiac Firebird, with 5.7L Engine (VINs G, S-- RPO's LS1, LS6)
They are saying on the LS6 engine check for oil behind the engine throttle plate and intake manifold, and and giving a procedure to follow before replacing number 1 compression ring.
Dude,,,, three threads on oil consumption??? Everyone telling you to know about it but not to worry about it.....
I think you should buy a bicycle............................... but be careful, some of them have air consumption issues.
Nah, get the Vette and do what you can to try to determine the one your interested in is without the issues that concern you. I may have gotten lucky when I got my '01...no piston slap and no oil consumption

I just didn't know about it, or never seen it discussed here. Learn something new everyday on here.
When I see threads about oil consumption I try to post the facts to dispel some of the misconceptions. Can't catch them all LOL.
Here's the way I dealt with it when I found out - after I had bought mine '01 vert, and it was still under warranty just over 10k, "let's see how it goes." If it is excessive then do something about it, if not no big deal. But if it's mild or so consumption, do I really want a perfectly good engine opened up just to fix a quart every 4k miles or so. Eh I chose not to. My engine still looks as clean as it was the day new (no leaks), and I've had the intake manifold off twice this year to replace the oil pressure sender and I can tell you there is no collection of oil anywhere, pictures on my picture page.
And piston slap well just take it easy on the engine until you get above 167°F and it should be fine and quiet.
