The only real downside to the NT05’s is they aren’t the best in rain especially downpours. Other than that I'm happy with mine. You'll probably like these better than the 555R's anyway as those are more track orientated although many drive them on the street. To answer your question about the 315's....yes they will work fine with the TC and with stock wheels they will not hit the rear ducts. The cheapest most common choices are the Falken 615's and Kumho XS's both in 275/40-17 front and 315/30-18 in the rear. Haven't looked at prices lately but I'm pretty sure they will be more than the NT05's.

I run the Nitto NT01 on track and they stick like glue. Since this car is a good weather car only I cant say that they work well in the rain. Either track or street these tires hook up nice and no AH/TC issues.

sorry to bump this up because I'm sure its been answered on here before (search was in vain)….but, will nitto 275/40/17 and nitto 315/40/18 work without TC/AH issues and with no rubbing in the rear? I'm looking for a little more grip/width as well as more sidewall. the 275/40/17 and 305/35/18 i have now have no issues and the size ratio from stock is about .3 inches taller than stock sizes. I saw that going to the 315/40/18 in the rear would add another .3 inches on top of that…..Would this throw off the TC/AH? Anyone running the 315/40/18 in the rear with no rubbing on the ducts? Thanks a lot men.

315/40x18 is a TALL tire.

most 315s are 30 or 35s

If your main concern is TC/AH issues with those sizes you don't have to worry about that.

I have run a 315 out back before with no rubbing or sticking out....but that was a 30 profile not a 40. I am looking into getting the 315/40/18 in the NT-05R.....just not sure about the side wall. I know the NT 555R II Extremes had the stiffer side wall wrapped in a DR compound. I had no handling issues with those, and got the most miles out them than any other tire I've owned.

But I'm about to be going up another 100+ rwhp and I know I'm gonna need all the grip I can get. I'm just hoping the NT-05R isn't gonna feel all squirmy around a corner..... Anyone running the R's that can chime in?

Ask the Drag Racers. Only reason to go with that kind of tire is for the strip. If they rub then pull the brake ducts out. You don't need them unless you run road courses.

How do the 325's work on the rear for u ? Do they stick outside the fender or tuck under ? Do they rub and what width rim size do u run on the rear. Was thinking to run 305/35/19r since Im running 275/35/18 Michelin PS2's on front.
