A Vinci fan controller, and I assume the 160 thermostat will be a snap......
But, the Vinci may be another story, I hate the fact that my '02 runs @ around 220/240 in traffic @ 90*.............
This is insane IMHO.......Emission ****'s!!!!!.........
This heat range, is well in excess of being a plus in the life of your engine, and a lot of the surrounding componetry,,,,,,,,,,
Re: How Difficult is it?......to install....... (ZO6LS6)
Terry,
I would also recommend the one that Exit-28 sells. You can leave it on in the staging lanes (fan, that is) and it comes on automatically when driving around town when the temps get above 180^F. Driving around on 90+^F days already here in Dallas the car never runs hotter than 190 beating on it, and typically its in the low 180^F range.
The t-stat is super easy to get to on these cars...you just get coolant all over if you don't drain it first. I was told I'd only lose a quart of coolant, so I didn't drain it, but I wish I had. I lost over a gallon of coolant just removing the t-stat (on a cold engine). Wasn't a huge deal, just a bit messy.
I'll be happy to give you a hand. The Exit-28 one is super simple to wire up, too. :)
