Best Tire For Dry Traction
I'm currently in the search process for new tires for my Z06. Since I do not daily drive it, I am really only concerned with dry traction and sheer grip. I want the tires to really grip off the line and have a smooth breakaway through turns. The tires that I have mostly narrowed down to are the Nitto NT05, ExtremeContact DW and Ventus R-S3. I've heard good opinions on all of them but would like to hear some feedback form other 'Vette guys. Thanks!

I purchased a set of Hankook R-s3's just before I tracked my car last June. I love these tires. They stick very well. The car is a DD also and they are great in the city too (when dry).

Thanks for all the responses! I'm leaning toward the RS-3's due to the balance of price and performance. Since the car is simply a weekend driver, I do not need something that performs in the wet. As such, it looks like I'll go with the Ultra High Performance class of tire.

Either the Hankooks or the Michelins would be my choice. Good luck with whatever you choose.
