Default Lifespan of a clutch

What's the lifespan of a z06 clutch with an avg corvette daily driver?

Corvette daily driver = daily drives his car with that occasional spirited driving and 1/4track once or twice a year with a clutch dump lol... Aka ME!

I'm curious he long it'll last. I k ow its an expensive thing to do... Probably
Like 1000 for labor? I have no idea...

It's not slipping or anything, I just wonder when it might, so I can start saving for it lol

I had to replace the trans at 64k so I went ahead and replaced the clutch, but the old one looked like new.

I've got 130k on my stock clutch. I'll probably change it at some point when it's convenient for me.

You're probably going to be looking in the $400-$800 range for labor. I know that's such a wide range but it just really depends on the shop.

My '03 is at 82,000 and still operating fine. My C4 had over 140k on it with no problems when I sold it.

I went 78k miles on my stock clutch with the usual bolt ons and same driving as you. Still had quite a bit of life left too, only problem was one of the forks got stuck and the clutch would no longer disengage or engage. As long as you use the clutch properly you should be able to get a lot of life out of it.

I'm having virtually the exact same situation. I've got a perfectly working clutch with no slipping whatsoever, still works smoothly and chirps the tires, too. I'm at 99,700 miles. My slave has just started leaking. I have to add a little fluid occasionally at this point. I can't see going in there to just change the slave and not change the clutch with the miles I have even though the clutch doesn't need replacing. It also isn't a good time of the year financially to have to do this. How long did you drive your car from the time you noticed the leaking until you repaired it? My car is still driving great. Really ticks me off that there is so much work to replace one simple part.

probably about 8,000 miles. I went ahead and changed it while i had a little extra cash. So it didn't bite me when i didn't have the extra cash.

My old car had 125,000mi with the stock clutch when I sold it, still running strong too. It was a daily driver and saw the 1/8th mile track a few times.

Bringing back an old thread, but I think I will replace it this year....

now my question is, what is the usual labor this? I'm looking at a LS7 clutch kit, which should handle my bolt on Z06... with no problems.

is there anything else that you can reccomend? I really don't want to go over $1,000 for everything including labor.

any idea on labor?

The first question any shop will ask "do you have headers?" Adds to labor because they are in the way. I doubt you'll find a shop that'll do an LS7 installed for $1k. Lucky you if you do. Possibly you can do it yourself? I'm doing mine at home>
