ok i been looking around and cant find anything on here about the install of the headers... i was wanting to know how hard it is to install them..sounds like its the way to go for the start of the mods...i have a K & N CAI and gonna get a dyno tune but was wanting to try the headers... i have a shop with a 2 post lift..... any links thanks all
pretty much the same. if you have a lift, it should be a LOT easier than doing it on the ground, which even then wasnt too too bad. just tedious. it's just an exhaust after all
Its pretty much the same for all C5's and I can say for sure that the Lg pros are pretty straight forward. Its a fair amount of work but its not difficult.
"Its a fair amount of work but it's not difficult" is a true statement if you have some mechanical background. Do Not Let anyone fool you - if you don't have any mechanical experience, you might want to pay for the install . One other thought - I installed my LT's with the car on jack stands. If you have a lift available jump on it. It will make the install so much easier. One more other thought - buy XS Power LT's.
i dunno. i'm a computer geek with limited mechanical experience, and it was just tedious. unless you have a fried short term memory/ADD/have ever stabbed yourself with a spoon, i'd say it's really no big deal. the walk-throughs online make it too easy.
what else was done? cus 374 sounds high'ish for just headers on a 241 heads ls1?
I agee. I had LG do the install (Street Pro's) and do a tune. Here are my results, with an A4 automatic with 3,000 miles on the clock (all at the rear wheels, of course):
Baseline: 305 hp 319 lb/ft torque
After install: 333 hp 347 lb/ft torque
A few months later, when I had 8,000 miles on the clock, I had Quality Morotsports install AFR 210 heads and a mild cam. After that install my results were:
After install: 400 hp 391 lb/ft torque
All results will be higher with a 6-speed, but you get the idea.
