If that's the case, the only difference from the regular Z wheel is that the CEs are polished and have special 24hr LeMans logo center caps.

I have to agree with this and I am not sure why they would sell for that much, but then again that could be because there may not be that many available as most that have the Z06 commemorative editions are kept stock and the wheels are not changed or if they are the owner retains the original wheels for resale.

I had a brand new set still in the original GM boxes - never had any tires mounted on them that I sold for $2800. If you could find a full set of four from a dealer (which last time I checked you couldn't), they had an MSRP of about $3500 plus the center caps at about $50 apiece.
They were made in Italy by Speedline, and they were the only polished wheels offered by Chevrolet for the Z06.

I just sold mine locally to a forum member for less than $1,000 for tires/wheels (w/ 8,000 miles). He's happy and I'm happy with the deal...

Only the CEs had the Speedline spun cast POLISHED wheels. 02-04 had the same wheel, just not polished. 01 had the same looking wheel, but was a forged wheel made by Alcoa.
You may just want to buy a used standard set and polish them or have them polished. Prolly much cheaper in the end.

They are my favorite C5 wheels.
I have been looking for a set for a while. I have found a few but they are very expensive even used.
I just broke down and bought a set of 02 speedline Z06 wheels that I am planning to polish.

If you can look at the back, the 04 oem wheels will have a Speedline embossing on one of the spokes.

The CE Z06 wheels are nice looking, but for that kind of money, you can choose from a lot of aftermarket wheels.
