Low mileage oil change question.
Over the last two years my C5 is no longer my daily.
I only put about 1500-2000 miles per year on it. Last year I changed the oil after 13 months and 2000 miles... as of now I have 1500 miles after 13 months.
Should I still change the oil?
What is the schedule for something like this?
My oil life monitor is at 75%...

Just my opinion. Also most will tell you not to run the same oil over 1 year.

I would change it once a year no matter what the mileage.

If you run only a couple of hundred miles a year, you can wait for two or three years to change oil. Just make sure that the few times you actually run the car it comes up to complete operating temperature.

I too do not drive mine enough to have the oil life monitor tell me it is time to change the oil. I do change mine once a year, at the time I put it up for the winter. So yes, I would go ahead and change it.

I change the oil in all our cars once a year in spring.
I have a big oil change day where even my daughter and stepson come over.
We run synthetic in everything.
I think my stepson may change his twice a year depending mileage.

the only here that made sense is the one about getting it tested. If the TBN comes back good then the oil is still working and changing it wont do anything better than what is already in there. Science wins every time.

Simple solution,,,drive it more and get your moneys worth out of the car and your oil!I know modern synthetic oil additive packages would probably be OK,,but ET an engeineer that was in on the OLM development states follow the OLM OR 1 year.If I didn't drive it enough to change it and put her up for the winter(which I don't do,I drive mine) I'd change it BEFORE I stored it!!
