What are some cheap HP upgrades for c5 z06?
Just curious was are some inexpensive mods for a Corvette z06 considering ive dumped most of my money into purchasing the car lol? Thanks fellow z06 owners..

If money is really tight then try the low-no cost stuff. Zip-tie mod for the intake, cut down your stock shifter, do the radio shack resistor mod to the skip shift, and crank the bolts down on the suspension.

I want to do a good cold air intake and LT's/xpipe and some other power mods some time soon but right now I need new tires, brakes and other maintenance type items which add up too, lol.

Take the ziptie mod one step further, flip the air intake 180 degrees and cut a hole in the shroud to match the filter for a true cold air intake. Works great. Free!

I never knew you could put "cheap" and "HP upgrades" in the same sentence when talking about a Corvette.
This sure is an expensive hobby...

There was a speed shop I went to in IL when I owned my EVO. They had a sign that said the following:
At this shop you can only have 2 of the 3 things below:
1. Fast
2. Good
3. Cheap
This is very true. And holds especially true with our cars.
If you don't have the money-don't upgrade. Spend it on maintenance. You have a quick car out of the box. I have seen so many cars over the years that have been hacked to death to make the car faster. There are no freebies here. If you hack your car to death it will be worth less when you sell it-not to mention that these hacked cars are rarely faster than stock. Usually louder, for sure-but rarely faster. People can instantly tell quality from crap.
Save your money and upgrade when you can buy quality parts.

I agree that these are very quick cars out of the box. I just got mine and am honestly plenty happy with the power it makes stock for now. Thats why I just did some small mods like the shifter a few appearance items and next to free mods for now. Its going to take me a while to get bored with the cars stock performance level I can tell.

while the intake part is a true statement the exhaust part is not, the OEM Ti exhaust is in fact a great well flowing system from GM, most of the time people only replace it is due to the fact they want more of an exhaust note

I assume by "exhaust" he means full exhaust ie: headers.

I'm not sure what your definition of inexpensive is, but with an Vararam intake, X pipe, and straight pipes to a stock C5Z (a total of about $500-$600), I noticed a real power difference, and an awesome sounding ride.
