You cannot shave the mounting brackets. The shaving comes from the cushion of the seat. You will have to take your sheets to upholster shop to have it done.

Mike: received my seats tonight. Have unpacked one seat and everything appears to be just fine. Will do the other tomorrow if I have the chance. Base and sliders also appear to be fine. Don't know when I will have the time to install these, probably after the holidays. Sat in the seat and it fits just fine. Thanks for the good service.

Will OEM seatbelts work with the A4? I am a dedicated drag racer but use my car on the street occasionally. A harness appears cumbersome for street driving. Not to mention getting my wife hooked up...
