change the color of the door panels
I have a beige set of door panels, glove box and driver side cover.
I want to change the color to Yellow.
Please advise on the "correct" method to do this.
I am thinking of "painting" them instead of recovering.
Thank You...

I did mine on the 87 I owned. I used spray "Dye" in a can. I think I got it from Corvette America, or Ecklers. They have the correct colors. Just removed the panels, cleaned and prepped then sprayed. The "prep'" is key. I cleaned them real well, and wiped down with denatured alcohol. Then sprayed a plastic primer from a can also before a few thin coats of dye. I think they came out real nice, and held up well for the 3 more years I had the car.

A few years ago, forum member gtzy recolored his door panels and glove box. You might shoot him a PM and ask for his thoughts.
