i be real curious how they were able to isolate it down to the steering column. the leaking gas etc, i can understand once the car was gone, but the rest would be pretty interesting to hear.

Why have insurance when you can sue. This should have been an isurance subrugation suit, not a home owner. His alarm didn't work because it fried his wiring? I ain't buying it. But I would need to see wher his mains and such were located. But they can't be in the garage here in Missouri IIRC.

And this fits a C5 forum how? Just saying before it moves automagically.

every wire that goes through my house runs through the breakers in the garage 2 feet from where my car sits every night.

This is just a precursor for the first lawsuit brought forth when a 2004 with the fuel crossover problem burns down a house or heaven forbid causes a fatality.....They’ll go back on GM for a known latent defect that was not corrected across the board. It will be UGLY.

Unfortunately there will always be snake lawyers (think John Edwards) to drum up publicity and carefully pick the lowest IQ jurors possible.

Sounds like they did not have a heat/smoke detector in the garage tied into their alarm system. Bad idea.
