My insurance certainly didn't skyrocket. In fact, my C5 is the cheapest of the 3 cars we insure.

I can clearly understand why NJ has the highest insurance rates in the country, nothing against you but,I deliver cars in the Marlton Pike and Cherry Hill area on occasion and see first-hand how people drive like no one else is on the road. I've had USAA for over 20+ years and for the most part the insurance has been reasonable. I pay roughly about $530 every 6 months for 3 cars including the 'Vette but, then again I live in Missouri and I have low-mileage discount as well. If your insurance only goes up $80 that's pretty d**n good IMO. To be honest when I traded my '93 T/A for a '92 'Vette my insurance went down. That was 20 years ago though. I'm sure anyone under 25 at this moment who owns a 'Vette can probably regale their insurance quote with much disdain. At 50 with a clean record, your good to go.

I'm 27, I traded in an '04 GTO for my '01 z06 and my monthly insurace payment through Geico dropped from $135 to $112!
In other news, my interest rate dropped from 16% to 5% and the z gets better gas mileage...it's as if it was meant to be!

Yea, I kinda didn't get my first credit card until I was 22 so my credit history was very limited. And limited credit is far worse than bad credit in my experience. My credit score is in the high 700's now tho so no worries!
P.s: if you think that's bad, I had a Scion prior to that with a 28% interest rate! It was either pay the 28% or walk 20 miles to work. Needless to say, I've earned the 5%!

I'm in NJ and was paying almost $900 a year with Geico. Went to NCM/Adam and it's MUCH cheaper. Great coverage, and if you select one of his X Amount of miles per year, the unused miles roll over into the next year. He also has unlimited miles as well.

Stop wasting your time and give Adam Boca at the national corvette museum a call. I thought i had a good rate with hagerty insuring my 3 vettes and my 3 trans ams. For the same coverage, Adam beat hagerty by just over $850. Hagerty: $1876, NCM: $1016

I'm finally getting closer to purchasing my first Corvette. It will probably be an earlier C5. I'm in NJ and we have the highest insurance rates in the country. So I called my agent the other day and he said with full coverage, my insurance will go up about $80 a month. By the way, I'm no kid. I'm in my 50's.
So I was just wondering how you guys or gals made out insurance wise. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it!

If your corvette is not your daily driver and is garaged you can insure it though Grundy Worldwide like I did with my 2002 Roadster. My premium is $292 annually with an agreed value of $20,800. There is no mileage limitation just can't be a daily driver. There is no deductible on comp or collision either. I have my 68 firebird and 64 nova insured though them also.

My C5 is a DD and I pay less than $80/month IN TOTAL. I use Liberty Mutual and get a number of discounts for multi-car, bundling with homeowners policy, limited tort option, etc. Also, I am over 50.
I think OP needs to check out some competitors....

My 03 Vette is one dollar more per month than my 04 Pontiac GP, so not an issue really.
Being 54 helps a lot here!
No shopping around in the Communist state of British Columbia, government run insurance, government run Aircare, government run Transit system, no free enterprise here, pure garbage in, garbage out!
And the people who have never lived anywhere else but here, think they're getting the best deal out there, total hogwash!
But I'm not bitter!

Beginning of this year got rid of a 98 Lincoln Mark viii for a 2001 vert and my insurance only increased because I only had liability on the Lincoln and put full coverage on the vette. The vette isn't any more than our minivan.
