front license plate filler options
Hi all, i was just wondering if anyone knew of some options for around the front license plate. I feel it looks pretty bad the way it is and was looking for pics or ideas. Thanks rob

I bought the clear and had it painted inside to allow for seeing the plate... nothing special, but it's effective and maintains the car's lines better than the more common options available.

I have to run the front place here in Missouri so I just had a stock license plate surround painted body color. May not be the best option, but it looks better than it did stock.

Clear one here. Illinois requires front plate & yes any cover is not legal, however I've never had any problems with the LEO's. IMO as long as all the info on the plate is visable I believe you are o.k.

In New York they do require a front plate by law and you can not cover it with anything, even clear. Covers interfere with laser guns and then how could they extract even more money from your wallet? I however do not run one on my Jeep (kept tearing it up) and I didn't run one on my Mercedes Benz either. I have never been stopped for it, but my wife was stopped in the Benz once and the LEO asked where it was and mentioned she could be ticketed for it.
There is a vendor here that has a motorized hidden plate mount. You can retract the plate any time you want!

This is not my car, however these are made by Breathless Performance to replace the front plate holder. Driving Lights you can find them on their website.

Clear ones are illegal in Oregon but you can usually get away with them until they get hazy or too dirty, even on the back. I use the U shaped one from one of the forum vendors, painted body color, about $100.

You could get a plain one and paint it yourself but this was an absolutely perfect paint match.
