Default Best Affordable Exhaust?

Hey guys I am ready to pull the trigger on some exhaust, but I am trying to figure out a route that is going to cost me less than 500 bucks.

I really like the B&B Bullets, but I don't want to spend that much. I have also thought about the Borla straight pipes, but I'm not really sure I like the way they sound.

Any ideas on how I could build a custom exhaust? It doesn't have to be stainless steel. I am okay with galvanized exhaust.

Any input would be awesome. I am trying to get something ordered here in the next few hours.

I had the B&B Bullets w/ Magnaflow Xpipe on my car for several years and I just got sick of the drone. Last fall I swapped out the B&B system. Left the Magnaflow Xpipe on and added a Magnaflow system to the Xpipe. You have to watch the sales but it's tough to get something under $500. Take your time in selecting a system. Try to ride in a car with the system that you want because sound clips online don't tell the whole story. What ever you go with is what you will have to live with.

under $500 you can get a used gently used titanium catback from a c5z06. they're lighter and sound good WOT, no drone, and pretty quiet when you're behaving.

For $500 you're looking at used. Check out the parts section.

Well guys I just purchased new borla straight pipes! I got them for 366.00 shipped from autoanything on ebay!

I hope I like them! I know they are gonna be loud! I just hope I can deal with the noise. For now I have my cats and stock manifolds so that should help. When I get my headers next is when I think they might get a little out of control!

check the f/s section. You can find some deals there on used exhaust. I got a deal on my borla stingers. Just traded my existing mufflers and paid shipping both ways. Around 300 I think it was. Beats spending a grand on a new set.

NXT Step are $650.00 on Amazon may be cheaper on EBay sound good as well check You Tube, I purchased my SLP Powerflo direct from SLP in May 2011 at that time price was $679.00 and 10% off if purchased that month and cost was $610.00 top notch quality for price. May is just around the corner they may run a similar deal this year, the current listed price is $799.00

DMH Electric cutouts $400. Install should only be about $100-150. With the cutouts you have the luxury of quiet, really loud, and anywhere in between.

You can find some good deals if you are willing to accept used parts.

Thanks for all the advice guys! I ended up buying the borla straight pipes!! If they are too loud for me I am going to sell them and buy some cut outs. I have had them on a couple of my cars in the past and love being able to open and close them... So, we will see how I like them... I got a really good deal, so I shouldn't be in bad shape if I hate them.

I would think anything electric around the exhaust would burn out pretty quick, Ive thought about the cutouts also but leary of a waste of money. Anybody had them awhile ?

Best of luck! Exhaust systems on these cars are like motor oil-very subjective. Nobody can tell you what you will like or dislike. Also, I agree that you can find some great deals on used parts and SS exhaust systems seldom wear out!

I have ran cutouts on two other vehicles and loved them! I had them on my wrangler with a 350 and on my 68 camaro. I used qtp brand. They both have held up for a combined 15k miles. They design them to take the heat so I wouldnt worry about that. Get them and show me how you did your install!

In your price range a used set of TI's would do it.
